helping out

Today we had Mufti Monday. We all wore red and black and bought some coins to make a coin trail. We are trying to raise money to help out the people in Christchurch. We hope we can raise lots of money to help out.

A sad day for New Zealand

This morning we spent some time talking about the big destructive earthquake that happened in Christchurch. We know that some people didn't survive and we are sad about that but we also know that there are many people who have been saved.
Being a Kiwi means getting in and helping others and we saw lots of pictures of people doing that. We are very proud of all those who are there and are helping. We have learned about a word called 'hope' and that is what we have lots of; we are hoping that all the people still stuck in buildings get out safely.
After we had talked about what happened we all wrote about it and then we got to paint a picture showing some of the things we saw. We want the people of Christchurch to know that we are thinking of them and we hope they are ok.

Sometimes while all around NZ crazy things are happening you get a child who makes your day! Thank you J.P!

Swimming 2011

What a wonderful time we had at the pool today! The weather was so hot, the water was just right (for most of us) and we all love our time in the pool. Miss Wright wandered around with the camera and got lots of photos of us for you to enjoy.

Fru-Ju Friday

The wonderful members of our PTA decided there couldn't be a better way to start the weekend off than with a cool Fru-Ju. I came across these two familiar faces enjoying one....

Place Value Work

This morning we looked at numbers. We discussed the whole tens and ones. We split our numbers into tens and ones to. After that we managed to put ourselves into order from the smallest number to the largest.

Our furry visitors

Today K.G bought in her guinea pigs to show to the class. They were very cute and they ran around on our floor looking for a quiet place to hide. We all got a cuddle but unfortunately one of us got more than she bargained for and had a little present left in her lap......

The multi coloured guinea pig is Pippi and the little black one is Woody. They are both very cute little girls.

Our first few days...

We thought about what we wanted to be when we grew up and drew a picture of ourselves. We know that we can be anything we want to but we must learn, practise and try our best in order to get there.

Miss Wright lost half of our photos so we had to try and sketch in the missing piece. They have come out amazingly well don't you think?

We made a quilt full of all the things we are good at. We are a very talented bunch of kids.
