A sad day for New Zealand

This morning we spent some time talking about the big destructive earthquake that happened in Christchurch. We know that some people didn't survive and we are sad about that but we also know that there are many people who have been saved.
Being a Kiwi means getting in and helping others and we saw lots of pictures of people doing that. We are very proud of all those who are there and are helping. We have learned about a word called 'hope' and that is what we have lots of; we are hoping that all the people still stuck in buildings get out safely.
After we had talked about what happened we all wrote about it and then we got to paint a picture showing some of the things we saw. We want the people of Christchurch to know that we are thinking of them and we hope they are ok.
